Tasty Foods Uncut Bitter Leaf 500g is frozen bitter leaf (onugbu) left uncut rather than pre-shredded — giving you control over how finely you cut it for ofe onugbu (bitter leaf soup) or other traditional vegetable stews. Frozen at peak freshness, it saves the laborious step of repeatedly washing fresh bitter leaf to tame its natural bitterness.

How to prepare

• No need to thaw fully — cut or shred to your preferred size while still partly frozen, then add to your soup pot.
• Combine with cocoyam or achi as a thickener, palm oil, assorted meat, stockfish and crayfish for ofe onugbu.

Storage

• Keep frozen at -18°C until ready to use. Once opened, use promptly and do not refreeze.
