Moi Moi Elewe (moinmoin) in Leaves
Description
Moi Moi Elewe is traditional Nigerian moi moi — a steamed bean pudding made from blended beans, palm oil, fish and egg — wrapped and steamed in moi moi leaves for the authentic aroma you don't get from foil-wrapped versions. Good as a snack on its own, a side with pap or akamu at breakfast, or alongside rice and stew.
How to serve
- Microwave: pierce the seal, heat on full power for 3–4 minutes, stir, then heat for another 1–2 minutes until piping hot.
- Hob: empty into a pan and warm on medium heat for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
