Description
Bob Frozen King Prawns 100/200 are smaller prawns — the 100/200 count means roughly 100 to 200 prawns per pound, the smallest grade in our range, well suited to dishes where prawns are stirred through rather than served as the centrepiece, such as fried rice, soups and stir-fries.
How to prepare
- Thaw quickly under cold running water, peel if needed, then cook 1-2 minutes until pink — smaller prawns cook very quickly.
- Stir into seafood jollof, fried rice or pepper soup in the final minute of cooking.
Storage
- Keep frozen at -18°C until ready to use. Defrost in the fridge overnight — do not refreeze once thawed. Use within 24 hours of defrosting.
Frequently asked
What does the 100/200 count mean?
It's a sizing grade — 100 to 200 prawns per pound — meaning these are smaller prawns, well suited to being mixed through rice and stir-fries rather than served whole as the main feature.
How long do they take to cook?
Just a minute or two once thawed — their small size means they cook through very quickly and can toughen if left too long.
